As AI and neural networks improve each year, it is becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish between a human and AI in some cases.

The open web is dying. WIthout paywalls, you have AI scrapers and Google harvesting your content and presenting inside their own search results. You don't get organic traffic so your site won't get ad revenue. Thus, web developer demand can't go up. Outside of subscription content, there is very little money to be made. The amount of content theft is insane.

AI development is focused on coding, and web development doesn't require much originality.

As AI is doing everything by itself without taking a rest and gives more accurate results than humans.

This job will be accessible only to passionate programming guys in the future. They learn coding stuff all the time for their entire life. If you want to learn once and then use it for decades, learn something else.

because as of now by 2025 already their are many ai tools that generates websites in minutes

The recent advancements seen in the use of ChatGPT, Devin and GitHub Copilot are all hinting that the jobs of beginners and moderately skilled Web-developers are highly likely to be taken by AI and its subsequent technologies.

Web Dev is easy automatable job, LLMs already give easy front end code

We already have tools to transform Figma designs into semi-working code (with React/Angular/Vue, tailwind, etc).
Even though these are not fully functional at the moment, to think we will stagnate on this for 20 years seems absurd to me. At the very least the job will transform into 90% AI-generated code, and 10% human guidance and adjustments

Web Developers are the fast food workers of the programming industry. ofc they'll be replaced

Any profession where the output is freely available and scrapable is at risk. Obviously certain companies will always be doing something boundary pushing with web development, but the vast majority of sites can be automated

Getting much worse. Remix framework was actually rewritten / dumbed down so AI can generate more code and the creators said the framework revision itself was heavily AI assisted. This could be an omen for other frameworks. Boilerplate and complexity help job security and scare away new learners.

Very high risk of automation already, no innovation except design which can anyways be done at an exponential rate by ai themselves.

Because brands would always need "unique" interfaces and AI kind of tends to repetition of existing experience. So, to invent new innovative UI solutions we still would need some human-beings that provide better solutions for other humans. Of course, AI would help us with such tasks, but not entirely replace us.

AI is already able to generate code, in particular code that solves common and simple issues that already have solutions online as part of the AI's database. Currently the AI's code generation ability is not good enough to replace the developer but that will likely change in the next years as web development frameworks compete to integrate AI.

The integration of AI into these frameworks will allow it to generate and test much more complicate code effectively, allowing web designers to interatct with the framework on their own to get the code they need without any need for a developer, as the technical skill required to interact with such a framework will become much shallower.

Front-end developers who only know how to utilize frameworks, (I will call them frameworkers) will be replaced by AI.

There are already front-ends built by AI that have been trained on frameworks. Front-end developers must upskill by learning actual low level programming to further develop their frameworks, or transition into a back-end role, which will require actual programming skills. Front-end developers who do know how to program will be alright.

Frameworking is in no way similar to software engineering, ie engineering frameworks, or back-end data pipes. Software engineers will not be replaced as they are the ones creating such frameworks for frameworkers and AI alike.

AIs like ChatGPT can already produce a simple example of a website (I tested front-end side only).

I believe that, when building a web platform, the requirements analysis and the infrastructure design will still be done by humans for a very long time since they require advanced communication skills to fully understand the client's requests and their implications. However, the actual coding part can, more or less easily, be automated since, once the requirements have been specified, it doesn't require skills other than an advanced knowledge of the needed programming languages and tools and a certain degree of logic abilities, all of which can be achieved by AIs.

Therefore, I find it likely that at least this part of web development will be automated in the future.

In my opinion, the code we write requires good thought, development, and a lot of thinking to be done. It's not good for artificial intelligence to create a fully interactive site.

It is possible that AI will replace this web developer jobs and as per my knowledge it will take around 5-6. years to make it real because the work done by web developer like web design, fix glitches and other can be easily done by an AI as the technology is growing day by day just like nowadays there are some app or website which will make anything that you will tell them and AI can also know coding and algorithms used in web developement for different languages

Development can't be animated completely but today it's easy to develop web due to ai tools and source found in internet which make the wages here comparatively low and once development phase is over job security is an issue
